The Story
In my time leading large programmes and recruiting very large teams, I realised a hard truth: the best roles are never posted on job boards. They are filled through 'Authority' — the quiet confidence of being the known expert in the room.
I spent 15+ years modernising national-scale IT estates, including Government systems, delivering programmes worth tens of millions. I built and led teams of 40+ people. And through all of that, I watched exceptional professionals get passed over — not because they lacked capability, but because they lacked visibility.
When I went through my own senior career transition, I applied the same "Systems Thinking" I use to fix complex technology environments to the job market itself. I mapped the hidden job market. I built a systematic approach to LinkedIn authority. And it worked — not through luck or networking events, but through a repeatable, evidence-based system.
